Everyone Else Is Posting About Snow...

...so why not one more?

Once Ellen and I got back into town on Sunday, I had her drop me off at church to meet up with Channing, Tristan, and PaPa (aka Channing's dad). At the entrance, someone had built a really unique snowman. Since I missed most of the boys playing in the snow, I had to take a picture of Tristan with the ugly, oops, I mean unique snowman.
As we were leaving the church, I had to get a picture of the sign. It looked so pretty surrounded by snow!
I was so excited, when we got home, to see that we still had a good bit of snow. I was able to watch Tristan enjoy it! I figured I would miss it all, but I didn't. YEA!!!

Tristan making a snowball...Good one, T!That's what I like to see...an attack on Daddy! :)He was so proud of himself AND running for dear life after throwing his snowball!Notice Channing is getting ready to lob one at me. I was his favorite target.Channing said the boys played a lot in the snow that morning before church. He said T had a blast but that Asher wasn't a big fan. It was just too cold for his sweet little hands. I wish I had thought to do Leisha's trick...socks on the hands. I couldn't find any of his gloves or mittens. Terrible!

I love the snow, but now I'm ready for spring. I have had enough of this cold weather. I'm ready for the time change, the warm weather, walks around the neighborhood, the whole shabang! Come on, spring!!!

Marvelous Monday

Today was a great day, a really great day. First off, the weather was glorious! Nice, cool fall weather...next to rainy days, my absolute favorite weather. Channing and I started our small group, The Bait of Satan, tonight with some really neat people. It's an awesome curriculum, and we're looking forward to a fun semester with new friends. AND today I was able to confirm that I'm going to the beach for a girls' weekend. Woo hoo! I am looking SO forward to it!!! I'm going to be hanging out at the beach with some of my dearest and most beloved friends. These ladies not only are my sorority sisters, but they are best friends that, no matter how much time goes by between phone calls and visits, we always manage to pick up right where we left off. A weekend with them is just what I need!!!
So anyway, today has been a wonderful wonderful day. I hope your Monday was just as great. If not, I hope and pray that tomorrow is better!
Blessings!

Walk the Line

Today's Church of the Highlands service was one of the best services I have ever attended. I don't know if it's because the sermon centered around one of my all time favorite movies, Walk the Line, or if it was because it had some focus on the life of Johnny Cash (who is on my list of people I look forward to meeting in heaven), but it was a fantastic service. It was incredibly inspiring. During the message, I feel like I got some confirmations from the Lord on some things He's leading me to do. I LOVE when that happens!

If you live in the Birmingham area, I strongly encourage you to attend tonight's 6:00 service. Even if you have a home church of your own, this is one service you don't want to miss. You won't be able to watch or listen to it online because of copyright laws and use of the movie clips, so if you want to see what I'm talking about, you must go tonight. You'll be glad you did! Oh! AND they'll have FREE popcorn, drinks, and candy at tonight's service. You can't beat that!

Seriously, one of my favorite messages and services EVER!

Welcome Weekend

I hope you all have a wonderful, wonderful weekend!!! :) Aren't Fridays SO great?!

We are getting a sitter tonight for the first time in, well, hmmm.... I don't think we've ever had an actual babysitter, who wasn't related to us, watch both our boys while we go out. I am pretty excited and a little nervous too. We are going to eat with Channing's brother, his wife-to-be, and his parents at Prairie Fire Grill *yum* for a little family celebration dinner for the newly engaged couple. Should be fun!

Tomorrow, we'll hang out around the house, get some things done, have some fun. Then tomorrow night, I'll have a mom's night out (with some great friends) that is doubling as a going away party for our dear sweet friend, Adrienne. She's moving far far away to Virginia. {sniff}. Sunday will be a family day. The boys and I (all three boys) will attend the greatest church in the world, Church of the Highlands (I'm just slightly biased), then we'll spend time doing fun family stuff, like playing t-ball, dinosaurs, chase, etc. Fun stuff!

I'm sure this was pretty boring to you. Sorry! What are your plans this weekend???

A Great Wednesday Night

Last night after church, Tristan, Asher, and I accompanied Channing on a home visit. He has a patient who is unable to get into the office right now because of a recent surgery, so since she can't get out, he has been going out to her house to keep her spine adjusted (I love my hubby!).
On the way home (or there, I can't remember), I captured this super sweet picture of my boys. I looked back, and they were holding hands. It absolutely made my heart melt!
(Oh, and yes, Tristan sucks his fingers. I'm very open to suggestions on how to break it.)
Once at the patient's house, Tristan and Channing went in, and I decided to wait in the car with Ash (somehow I just knew he would want to get down and into all her stuff).
It didn't take long sitting in the car before he got restless and wanted to get out of his carseat. After several minutes of listening to him fuss, I finally let him out. He was THRILLED. He took advantage of the opportunity and decided to drive me around town. Check out the pictures I snapped:

Here he is waving to a pedestrian. Eyes on the road, Ash!!!
Just coastin'!
All in all, it was a great Wednesday night. I got to spend a couple of hours with super sweet babies at church; Channing was able to help one of his patients at home; I got to take a thrill ride with Ash (who knew he was such a great driver? ;)); and I got to see my sweet boys hold hands. Yes, it was a great Wednesday night indeed.
Tomorrow night, we'll officially end t-ball with our team party (sniff), and then we'll head to the lake for a long weekend. I think our family needs it!
