Another Great Week at CVS

When I first glanced at this week's deals, I'll admit, I was a little disappointed. Then I came to my senses and got to work. I started figuring out the deals that looked best (with the help of the weekly ad, some websites, and some needs we had in the home) and ended up stocking up on some GREAT stuff! Check it out:

I have done three transactions so far this week (in two trips). During my first trip, this is what I got:
My first transaction:
2 Herbal Essences at 2/$5
1 6x8 photo book 7.99

So far, this week I have spent $6.24 and have saved $104.70! Not my greatest week at CVS, but still really good! AND to make matters even greater, I had a super duper nice guy check me out (by check me out, I mean he rang me up ;)). He was awesome. He said I was a smart shopper and wishes I would teach him how to do it. That's a far cry from the woman who slammed the magazine rack in my face when I went to pay yesterday! :) Oh well. Like Tristan said, she must not have seen me.

I still have to make one more trip to CVS to make another 6x8 photo book and to make a 4x6 one. I haven't had lots of time to spend on the photo machine. I also plan to pick up another Bic Soleil pack.

So much CVSing, so little time! CVS, 99% of the time, I really love you!

Now, it's YOUR turn to save money!!! ENJOY!!!

Summer, I really wanted to take Sharon's small group, but for several reasons, I was unable to. That's when I started praying that God would teach me how to save money doing what she was teaching. That's when He led me to some SUPER great websites. I'm not kidding, it was a TOTAL God thing. I was checking out the blogs of some friends of friends from college, and I stumbled across Becentsable. From there, I found another blog that taught me how to do grocery stores and from there another that taught me CVS. God is SO AMAZING! It was such an answer to prayer!
Anyway, it didn't take me long to learn. I studied moneysavingmom and homeschooling four and learned a LOT. Moneysavingmom has CVS 101. That's where it all finally clicked. Until then, I was getting good deals but not $1 deals, you know? That is also where I learned the value of doing more than one transaction. It's GENIUS!

I learned my coupon filing system (which I upgraded to fit my needs) from Becentsable and couldn't imagine doing it any other way. It requires very little time and very minimum cutting (I hated cutting out every single coupon week after week~especially since I get four papers! Too, I hated sifting through coupons to find what I need. Now it's all alphabetized in a sheet protector. Perfect for my ADD mind!).

Study moneysavingmom's "CVS 101", and you'll have this CVS thang in NO TIME! PROMISE!!! :) And when your kids ask you why math is important, show them all your scenarios (that often have to be reworked because CVS is always running out of stuff). :)

Leisha, you can get ECBs a couple of ways. One way is to buy stuff. For almost everything you buy in the store, you receive 2% back in ECBs. These particular ECBs are only distributed quarterly, at the end of each season. The other way, and what I have found to be the most effective, is to watch the ads (or use the GREAT CVS websites) and buy things that earn you ECBs. Then take those ECBs and use them to buy other things that earn you ECBs. I only buy things with my ECBs that will earn me ECBs (99% of the time). That is called "rolling your ECBs". That is the cheapest and easiest way to get out of the store with lots of stuff for very little money. I LOVE IT!!! Those particular ECBs print out at the bottom of your receipt and can be used on your next transaction.

Alyssa, I am LOVIN' the new coupon!!! FABULOUS!

Check out Alyssa's blog for some great info. Also check out Money Saving Mom. Both blogs have links to tons of other blogs that can show you the scenarios that other people are doing. Believe me, there is a wealth of information out there!

I am so thankful that God led me to this and that I am able to buy so many things that I can give away. That is the biggest blessing of it all!!! Praise God!

Any other questions, let me know! Love ya'll!

Oh, and for SUPER great Publix deals, check out Fiddledeedee or Homeschooling Four. Both are GREAT and are my favorite places to go to find the Publix deals!

One more great one for savings:
The Centsible Sawyer!

Alyssa's blog shows you scenarios you can use to get items at CVS for $5 or less. It's great for those who are new to CVS. :)

I bet you never run out of toothpaste, razors or deodorant at your house! That is awesome. I've got to start to learn how to do this. I'm totally overwhelmed, though. We have a CVS across the street and I've never darkened the doorstep. I know. Shoot me now...
